Metropol Restaurant, nestled within Miami’s bustling Dolphin Mall, is an exquisite destination for anyone craving authentic Caribbean, Cuban, and Spanish flavors. This vibrant eatery masterfully captures the essence of its rich culinary roots while offering a modern dining experience that’s as inviting as it is flavorful.
The heart of Metropol’s menu lies in its celebrated mofongos — stuffed smashed plantains that are a sensory delight. Whether you opt for the Mofongo Relleno De Camarones Al Ajillo with garlicky shrimp or the hearty Mofongo De Churrasco stuffed with tender skirt steak, each bite delivers a perfect balance of savory spices and lush textures. Another standout is the Alcapurrias, crispy local plantain fritters that offer a golden, crunchy exterior with a satisfyingly soft interior, echoing the comforting flavors of the Caribbean street markets.
Seafood aficionados will find joy in dishes like the Filete De Dorado a La Plancha, where fresh, grilled mahi-mahi flaunts a delicate smokiness and flaky tenderness. The Seafood Zarzuela, a bountiful medley of ocean treasures, bursts with layers of juicy, aromatic seafood cooked to perfection. For those drawn to Cuban classics, the Cuban Sandwich with Papas Fritas is a must-try – a delightful fusion of crispy bread, savory pork, melted cheese, and tangy pickles, paired with golden fries that are simply addictive.
The beverage selection complements each dish beautifully. The mojitos, renowned for their refreshing balance of mint and lime, and the non-alcoholic virgin piña colada provide the perfect tropical soundtrack to your meal. Sweet-toothed diners will appreciate the luscious Tres Leches – a decadent milk-soaked cake that melts effortlessly on the tongue and leaves you dreaming of more.
Step inside Metropol, and you're instantly embraced by its nostalgic 60’s-inspired ambiance, evocative of a lively Caribbean fiesta. The decor features vibrant wall designs that set a cheerful mood, while the spacious bar area and open seating allow guests to soak in the lively atmosphere, especially with live music stages nearby that add an energetic Miami vibe. The restaurant is consistently praised for its warm, attentive service – with staff like Carlos, Katerine, and Pedro going above and beyond to make guests feel at home, adding to the overall experience.
Reviewers repeatedly highlight the depth and authenticity of the flavors here. From longtime fans like Oscar Picon, who applauds the innovative use of both green and sweet yellow plantains to elevate their mofongos far beyond ordinary, to Gioconda Vidal, who appreciates the friendly staff and vibrant environment, the consensus is clear: Metropol Restaurant is a culinary gem. Guests often return not just for the food but for the genuine warmth and professionalism of the team, making each visit memorable and deeply satisfying.

I have eaten at there location in San Juan before. This is the 5th time esting here. We only come to eatthe Morongo the 1st time. Morongo is with only the green plantain. Once we discovered Bi-fongo then the taste buds were in another realm. They use the green plantain and the yellow plantain (sweeter) to make it much more edible and not as bland. We love coming here. Wife orders the shrimp and I get the skirt steak. Highly recommend you get the sauce as shown on picture that comes with mar y tierra. Good wi e selection. Most of staff are Boricuas. Super attentive. Daughter get her shrimp pasta so she is happy. Out go to place based on food quality and price point. It's a heavy meal. And you need tobhave the Can Can. Enough for 2. But I ate 3/4. A delicious fat greasy
I visited this restaurant not long ago. This place is great, not only they have a friendly and professional staff, their food is amazing. I also loved the atmosphere, the decoration and the designs on the walls give you a 60s vibes. The outside has a large bar and seating area from which you can easily enjoy the live music playing from the stage of the mall in close proximity. I highly recommend this restaurant, you won't regret eating here, oh one more thing, the food portions are enormous
Delicious authentic food. Well seasoned. Restaurant was clean. Nice simple decor. Our server Carlos had great customer service skills and his recommendations for menu items was spot on. The fresh squeezed lemonade tasted like limeade but I absolutely loved every sip. I enjoyed my entire meal. When I’m back in the area I’ll definitely be back.
Everything was amazing! I went to the original in Isla Verde Puerto Rico and was elated to find one in Doral! The food was even better than the original, the service was friendly and completely flawless. Both of us enjoyed our meals and the flan de queso capped off the meal to perfection! Highly recommend go and enjoy!
The food was phenomenal, everything we had was flavorful and delicious. Katerine and Pedro made our experience at this restaurant remarkable. They were so attentive, patient, funny and great all together. Customer service 1000/10 for sure.
